papertake weekly challenge

I feel all out of sorts. I have been busy working on house/fall projects and let my craft room go. I have so many challenges that I would like to do, but really need to sort them and do the ones that I think are more managable. The challenge today at Papertake Weekly, Black& White and One other color. I chose yellow. I have had the scraps and stickers on my table since last week when I posted a card I CASED from Papercrafts magazine. I actually ended up making 3 cards in the same color palette, using up the stickers and the yellow patterned paper. No leftovers! Yeah! If you would like to see all 3 cards together, stop by on Saturday- World Cardmaking Day and see what I have in store! The Unscripted Sketches team are all posting their projects on blogs and some of us even have some candy to win..... speaking of which, did you see my Halloween candy up for grabs! Click on the photo on the right of my blog to take you to the link. Leave me a comment by 10/5 to enter!

strawberry fields forever....

Designing this card made me think of the Beatles song "strawberry fields forever" and hooked up my ipod for some inspirational music. Currently listening to Bon Jovi (so love him!!!) It's My Life ...."make your own way, its my life, its now or never, i ain't gonna live forever....like frankie said i did it my way...." There I go, off on a tangent!

The sketch for this card is from Papertake Weekly and the design motif is for Cute Card Thursday #71- Let's Get Fruity (to use fruit on your card). Love the sketch and it worked very easily to put everything on it that I wanted. The fruit part- cherries are the current fad. Even though the K&Co Sweet Berry had cherries on it, even though I have cherry rubons, I wanted to stand out by doing something different and went with STRAWBERRIES. See the little strawberries on this patterned paper? It's my fave fruit!!! I remembered that I have had this strawberry button for AGES and it worked perfectly with this card theme! The ribbon came from a thrift store, flower from Kris and the sentiment is SU!

Todays challenge at 365 Cards was to create a card with a flap and a surprise underneath. I went with the swing card. Shut, it is an elegant birthday card, pulled open, the middle flap swings and the sentiment is revealed. Paper, stamp, ribbon from CTMH. Thanks for looking today!

Paper Take Weekly Challenge

This weeks challenge was to creat a card using Pastel colors. To me it is either spring or baby cards that can handle this color scheme! I am vendoring in a spring Flea Market/Craft Show and trying to make boxes of easy premade cards. I am hoping that baby cards will sell well (to use as announcements or thank you's) and have made them neutral, made some blue for boys and need to make some pink ones next..... This card is very easy to put together- it is one of CTMH's card patterns from the Originals Patterns. I love the simplicity and can make a dozen in about 1 hour!
Supplies used: Colors are key lime green, sunkiss yellow, and pink. CTMH white swirl clip, yellow organdy ribbon, stamp from Mike's and sentiment from CTMH Baby set. PS I love to stamp on textured cardstock- it just really changes the look of the card.

A Life filled with Cupcakes is a Good Life!

Mojo #80 and Papertake Weekly easy 1-2-3.....

I adore Cupcakes. Yep, any kind of cake will do me just fine. But, love the simplicity of a small sampling of a cake, my sized, but it must have TONS of icing! Vanilla cake with vanilla icing is now my favorite. Onto the card......

Oh how on earth did I miss these websites in the past? I stumbled onto this site, MOJO MONDAY sketch blog a week or so ago and just had to try my hand at these sketches. Papertake Weekly was just this morning! Well, trying to condense my challenges into one card- that took some thinking (hard to do at 5:30am....) So, pulling out this combo from Kristen (she gave me lots of love the other week!) I went to work. This is my 1st card using this set of papers. I just love the colors green and orange together!

Mojo monday, was to follow the sketch design- which I did. The Papertake Weekly, the challenge was to use: circle (yep, good life stamp!), ribbons (yep, used ricrac) and stamps or images (yep- digi stamp of the cupcakes)! Followed all of the instructions!

I used a digi stamp for the first time and had some trouble with it, but did my best and just printed it off from Adobe, not being able to resize it. Used liquid applique on the icing, with Prisma Glitter- let it set overnight and heated it this morning to raise it up (3D effect!). The dew dots are pink, but look clear on this card. All in all, I am very happy with the way it ended- will definitely be back onto this site for more challenges!
