Laugh and the whole world laughs with you!

My baby has the most contagious laughter that I have ever heard. She is like me, laughs from the gut, laughs hard, laughs at life, at herself, at you! It is the most beautiful sound that you can hear- it really does make everyone around her laugh (no matter what she is laughing at!)

This layout (playing catchup with my pics) is for the Use It #15 Challenge and the Midnight Madness #6 Challenge.

The sketch was from MMSC#6. At first when I looked at it, I thought it was too difficult to do a card and sat the sketch aside. The more I looked at it, the more I "taunted" myself for the challenge and the idea of a layout took hold. Love inspiration- came home from the ice cream parlour and cranked it out in 1/2 hour!! How's that for efficiency??? The delicious coffee chocolate chip did wonders for my brain! p.s. the sketch was flipped b/c of the photo angle....

Use It called for :
-patterned paper over 1 year old: now I know my pink and black cardstock is forever and a day old, the patterned paper I got from Kris, it is Bobunny, so I think it is much newer, my bad....
-use chipboard: the LAUGH is K&Co, valentine
-use paint: nope
-use a rubon: don't have any, so I handwrote my journal
-use foam dots: popped up the journal box on 3d foam

have a great night, Kelly

I do remember, just not always when I should!

Ever have those kind of days? I have a book of months (like a perpetual calendar) that I write down birthdays for my friends, family, and customers. However, I don't always pull it out on the first of the month! So, I either get the birthday cards out VERY early or VERY late. I do remember, just may slip pass by the actual date. In my hubby's family, it is a given that you won't get your card before or even on your day- kind of a joke!

So, todays card is in remembrance of all of the people that I know had birthdays, but that I actually have forgotten to send out a card to. Happy Birthday!!!

The card sketch is from Midnight Madness SC4. Again, it was one of those cards that I really struggled with the middle image. I finally settled on the elephant, and came up with the saying afterwards. Like it when things work out that way! This card has many layers, all using 3d foam dots to raise up. Buttons are just stacked and attached with glue dots. The paper is from a misc matte stack, but all glittery! Watercolors for the elephant in blue and red. Really starting to like this technique.

If you click onto the photo, you can get a larger, clearer image....

Thanks for REMEMBERING to stop by!

Midnight Madness SC#3

A few weeks ago I was asked to participate in this new challenge blog. Priscilla has some amazing pieces of work- LOVE the use of old jewelry on the cards. Check out her site! MMSC#3 sketch challenge had me using the scraps that were still on my table from last night. Usually for me to be creative, I need a clean slate to start. I just used more of the K&Co papers for this card and used chocolate to accent. Unbelievable even to me, I found some "clips" in my stash that were from a clearance bin and never opened. Who would'a thunk I would find the perfect matching green accent??? Guess I should go thru that stash more often!!!

Used: choc satin ribbon, choc bigger brads from CTMH, Clear STudio $ stamps for tulips (which match the tulips on the patterned paper!), Wood block sentiment, pop dots for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by- have lots more I am trying to get done and posted today!

Use It! #11 and Midnight Madness #2

Ever need that extra "umph" of inspiration to get you started? Today was kinda that day. I have been extra tired and having stomach issues- think stress of the end of the year is getting to me.

Use It! #11 is a good one (especially on this day as the temps here in PA are hovering around 80+). The challenge is to use 1) a square card 2)punches 3) summer theme w/ bright colors and summer sentiment 4) embellishments such as flower, ribbon, pins and twine.

The sketch on this new site (Midnight Madness) had this great sketch. I turned it on its side to create this card.

So the 2 together gave me this card: Rainbow sentiment by Flair, Patterned paper by K&Co Berry Sweet collection, misc flowers, button, twine, green ricrac, Tulip CTMH c/s, MS Lace Doily Punch, gold brads, White Daisy and Topiary c/s and scallopped scissors.
